Alberto Optimistic Heading For Round Fourth of V8 Supercar Series

Tony D’Alberto will head to his home track, Victoria’s Winton raceway, this weekend for Round 8 of the V8 Supercar Series.

After spending the past two rounds in the warmer northern states of Australia the V8 Supercars are in for a cold shock at Winton this weekend.

With cold weather forecast and the possibility of rain on the cards the meeting could be thrown wide open as teams face inclement conditions.

Tony knows Winton well and has performed well there in the past, winning the Fujitsu round in 2007, but knows that the competition is a lot tougher in the ‘big league’.

“I have had a lot of experience at Winton,” Tony said.

“It takes away the track learning factor but it will not mean it is any easier as the competition, especially in qualifying, has been extremely tough this year.”

Tony and the Rod Nash Racing team are due a strong result as their commitment to improvement and performance is second to none.

“We have had some really good races this year but have failed to turn them into round results for a variety of reasons.

“The guys have worked really hard and I am sure the results are just around the corner.”
