Andrea Hans Fast Before Mechanical Failure

ANDERSON, Ind. – Team Full Throttle NASCAR Driver Development racer Andrea Hans was as fast as she’s been all season Saturday in the INEX Legends car class at Indiana’s Anderson Speedway before a broken rear end sidelined her following practice.

“It’s a setback,” Hans said. “We were encouraged because in practice I was keeping up with the faster cars and doing pretty well. Toward the end (of practice), I started to feel a vibration but wasn’t sure what it was. When I pulled into the pits there was a problem and it ended up being the rear end.”

Saturday marked Hans’ third event of the season at Anderson. She’ll continue to focus on gaining experience at the fast quarter-mile oval before traveling to the Charlotte, N.C. area in late July to compete in legends car races at Concord Motorsport Park, among other speedways.

“We’re going to try our best to have the car ready for the next race at Anderson. Right now, it’s just me and my dad so we have a lot of work ahead of us. We’re looking forward to the next race. I think we’re getting closer,” Hans added.
