NASCAR: Scott Speed Starts Career In Stock Car Racing With ARCA Race Team Red Bull

Since parting from his F-1 team, Speed had turned his focus to landing a ride in the states and is getting his first taste of American ovals at NASCAR’s biggest track.  Buddy Shacklette, AllHeadlineNews

First we got Juan, then Jacques, and now it seems former American Formula One driver Scott Speed will make the jump from the open wheel ranks to the stock car world.

Speed, with the world’s single coolest racing name, will make his debut at the Oct. 5 ARCA race at Talladega Superspeedway—the same event in which Juan Pablo Montoya made his just a year ago. Sports.AOL.com

“I come from a completely different world of racing, so there’s no doubt it’s going to be a challenge learning how these cars handle,” he said. “But I’m ready to get out there and see what I’ve got,” Speed said. duemotori.com

Speed, 24, won the Red Bull Driver Search in 2002, a program designed to find an American driver to compete in Formula One. As the winner, he received financial backing to race in Europe and prepare for an F1 ride.  SPTimes
