One of four “test drivers” for Spyker in a season that allows little testing, former GP2 Series regular Fairuz Fauzy got some seat time aboard the squad’s Formula 1 car at the Santa Pod circuit in the UK. SPEEDTV
‘It was great to be back in the F1 car, ‘ commented Fairuz. ‘We concentrated on aero development and control systems and had a very productive day. Santa Pod is not really a complete track, but it’s quite bumpy, fun and challenging to drive. We didn’t have any problems and it was nice to be able to get some more mileage in a Formula One car. I’m looking forward to getting some more time later in the season. ‘ AUTO RACING DAILY

This season, the 24-year-old has also been competing in the Formula World Series by Renault 3.5 series. So far Fairuz has enjoyed some promising results and in the last round of the series at the Hungaroring, secured his best result of the season so far; second place, just half a second behind the winner.
