Formula 1 Stars Try The Catwalk

Bikinis met race cars as Liz Hurley showed off her barely-there swimwear collection and British F1 stars - including Lewis Hamilton - strode down the catwalk in Monaco yesterday.

Helping to raise money for Elton John’s AIDS foundation, a host of famous faces attended the Grand Prix And Fashion Unite event in Monte Carlo.

Elizabeth Hurley sat next to an enraptured Prince Albert as models showed off her new swimwear collection, but the centre of attention was a collection designed by Petra, the daughter of Bernie Ecclestone, the Formula One boss.

Joining the Prince and Elizabeth in the audience were supermodels Naomi Campbell and Jodie Kidd, Take That’s Gary Barlow and Jimmy Choo founder Tamara Mellon, fresh from the equally fashionable Cannes.

Among the famous ’models‘ included British racing drivers Jenson Button, David Coulthard and Lewis Hamilton, Australian Mark Webber, Brazilian Nelson Piquet, Germans Nico Rosberg and Adrian Sutil and Italian Vitantonio Liuzzi.

“We managed to raise more than £750,000,” said Sir Elton’s civil partner, David Furnish. “Sadly, Elton couldn’t be there as he is suffering from bronchitis.”
