Harold Primat: “We can use that to our advantage at Silverstone and get a strong result”

Harold Primat and Pescarolo Sport are looking to build on a hugely successful race in the last round of the Le Mans Series at Spa in August, when the European season draws to a close at Silverstone this weekend.
Primat and co-driver Christophe Tinseau piloted their Pescarolo-Judd 01 to a first podium of the year at the Belgium circuit, finishing third-in-class behind team-mates Jean-Christophe Boullion and Emmanuel Collard. They will now be hoping a two-day test last week will maintain their competitive edge as the championship arrives in the UK. The team worked on several modifications to the car at Dijon in France, all of which Primat felt would prove beneficial this weekend.
“We tested several different components on the car and we feel we’ve found something useful, ” he said. “Hopefully we can use that to our advantage at Silverstone and get a strong result. Our confidence is high following the third place at Spa, but we all know that if the two Peugeots finish the race there is only one podium place remaining. We need some luck on our side, but we’ll push as hard as possible because we want to end the European stage of the season on a high. ”
Primat, who contested the British F3 championship in the early days of his career, is a big fan of the Silverstone track and is looking forward to racing back in the UK. “I love the Grand Prix circuit, ” he said. “It’s a wide track and very smooth and so it should be well suited to this kind of racing. I’ve raced there before in British F3 and in the Le Mans Endurance Series with Rollcentre Racing back in 2005, and I’m looking forward to being back in the UK because I have so many friends there and some wonderful memories from earlier in my career. ”
Henri Pescarolo was also looking forward to the race after the successful test. He said: “We did some work on the aerodynamics but mostly concentrated on the suspension and damping. We worked hard for two days and we feel we’ve found a few things which will improve the car for Silverstone. Once again the target for the race is to finish as the best-placed car in the petrol-class, because Peugeot will still have a massive advantage as they have had at every other round this season. ”
