Fujitsu Racing’s Jason Bright will take a new set of wheels to the fourth round of the V8 Supercar Championship Series, the Bigpond 400 at Barbagallo Raceway in Perth.
This is the first all-new Ford Falcon V8 Supercar designed and built by Fujitsu Racing and Britek Motorsport. The construction of the new #25 BF MkII Falcon has taken place over the last four months when the caged-shell arrived from Behag Engineering in early January.
The previous #25 Fujitsu Racing Falcon was an ex-Ford Performance Racing chassis.
“This is a key moment for our team,” said Bright.
“Not only does it represent the first truly designed and built Britek race car, we are confident that it will give us a lift in performance on the track.
“V8 Supercar racing is very competitive and just because we have a new car does not automatically mean I can start talking about running at the front. However, the process we have followed in the design and construction of this car has me looking forward to what can be achieved on the track.
“You never stop learning in this game and all lessons we learnt from the previous car, plus our own ideas, have been integrated into this chassis.
“I look back at Perth last year and we didn’t even get through Friday practice before having a massive accident and our weekend was over. If there was a place that I wanted to get my own back, it was Barbagallo.”
Under the leadership of Chief Engineer Geoff Slater, the Fujitsu Racing Team and Britek Motorsport have constructed a car with a range of improvements.
