Jason Meyers Remains On Top of World of Outlaws Championship Standings

Mechanicsburg, PA— After the first night of action at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Jason Meyers remains on top of the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series championship standings. The native of Clovis, California finished 11th on Thursday night after lining up in the 20th spot, and holds a five point advantage of Craig Dollansky. Meyers worked his way from the B-Main into the A-Feature.
Dollansky remains second in points after finishing 13th at Williams Grove. Officials deemed that he got on the throttle too soon in time trials, relegating him a lap at the end of the qualifying session. He turned the second fastest lap of time trials, but by way of World of Outlaws rules, the best he could be scored was 17th. After transferring to the A-Feature out of his heat race, he lined up18th for the 25-lap contest.
Donny Schatz finished second on Thursday night and moved to within seven points Meyers, as he remains third in the standings. The two-time defending series champion is the only driver that has finished in the Top-10 in all nine A-Feature events this season.
Joey Saldana used a podium finish at Williams Grove to remain fourth in points. He is 39 markers behind Meyers, and has eight Top-10 finishes in nine starts.
Steve Kinser used his first A-Feature win of the season to jump into the Top-Five in points. The 20-time series champion has five Top-10 finishes this season, with three of those being in the Top-Five.
Jac Haudenschild finished sixth on Thursday to vault himself into the sixth spot in points. He has four Top-10 finishes this season. He is tied with Kerry Madsen, as both have 1152 points.
Chad Kemenah remained eighth in points, with Terry McCarl just behind him. Both drivers used World of Outlaws provisionals to start the A-Feature on Thursday night, with Kemenah picking up 12 spots to earn a Top-15 finish.
Jason Sides moved into the Top-10 in points after the first of two nights of racing at Williams Grove.
Lucas Wolfe, the current Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award leader, vaulted into the 11th spot in points, after earning his first Top-Five finish of the season.
Other drivers that moved up in points after Thursday night included: Sam Hafertepe Jr. who is up to 12th and Shane Stewart who moved into 13th.
