States Rishabh Bhandari, the overall coordinator and the brain behind IIT Powai’s dream machine, “About a year ago, while I was interning with Maruti in Delhi, I interacted with the students from IIT Delhi’s team, who had participated in the competition before and gained some much-needed experience.
The team spends 25 hours every week on the car and in the winter vacations they ended up working for around 15 hours a day.
Rishabh, “We started work on designing and fabrication simultaneously, as we had inputs from our interaction with the teams who had participated earlier that they had last minute problems as they spent too much time on designing and less on fabrication. One important thing we did, and maintained all throughout, was to constantly take feedback from experts, which helped us in complex fabrications. As of now, we are just finishing the final designing and fabrication of the car.” Mumbai Pluses
