Lewis Hamilton is confident McLaren will be exonerated at next week’s hearing into the Formula One ‘spy’ scandal such is his belief in the “honesty” of boss Ron Dennis and the team.

As for the upcoming hearing, at which Woking based McLaren must answer a charge of possessing or even using sensitive Ferrari data, Hamilton said: “I know the team are working hard on it.
“There are always teams trying to bend the rules in some way, but I honestly believe we are the most honest. For me, I believe we will be all right.”

McLAREN have hit back at speculation that top team members saw secret information about Ferrari in the spy-row that could threaten Lewis Hamilton’s title bid.
The team are under investigation by the FIA following claims chief designer Mike Coughlan illegally received information from their fiercest rivals.
