F1: Mutua Madrilena Decides to Leave McLaren Sponsorship McLaren

The Spanish insurance group Mutua Madrilena will not be sponsoring McLaren for 2008 onwards. The Spanish company began their sponsorship of McLaren last season, coinciding with the joining of Spanish driver Fernando Alonso. Forumula1.net

Mutua Madrilena said in a statement, however, that its decision to leave McLaren was not linked with Alonso’s exit and that they had already decided on the move back in November.

McLaren now wishes to put these matters behind it and to move forward focusing on the 2008 season. F1.net
