Busch Quotes for week leading up to All-Star Race at Lowe’s Motor Speedway

Q: What is your strategy for the All-Star race?

“You’d like to win every single one of (the segments). So far in the past couple years I’ve been running either first or second at the end of the third segment then they go into the invert and then you get back in traffic and you get caught up in a wreck. That is what happened to me two years in a row. I think this year I’ll try to win the first two and then I’ll sand bag in the third one and try to get myself positioned right for the fourth one and try to win the thing.”

Q: How much did the test in Charlotte help your team prepare for the All-Star race?

“Well it helped not only for the All-Star race but also the Coke 600. It helped out a lot because we’ve got a sense of what to expect, from daytime to nighttime and stuff like that. That gave us a sense of daytime practice and then what it’s going to do at nighttime, what in the track is going to change and what it’s going to do. The car was fast at the test, and I’m sure it will be fast again for the All-Star race. With having the segments in there, you can work to set up the car for a little bit shorter run than what you would try to do for a normal race. So we’ll play around with that some and I think we’ll be fine.”
