NNCS Talladega Preview: Kyle Busch

GONE FISHING: Kyle Busch, an avid fisherman, and his team members will join forces with Kellogg’s-sponsored pro anglers Clark Wendelandt and Dave Lefebre of the Wal-Mart FLW Outdoors Tour for a fishing excursion on Lake Norman near Charlotte, N.C., this week. Busch will learn the basics of bass fishing and spend some time with the media.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KYLE: Busch, the youngest race and pole position winner in NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series history, will turn 22 years old on Wednesday, May 2. Busch, who signed with Hendrick Motorsports at age 17, is in his third season of NEXTEL Cup competition.

BEST TALLADEGA FINISH: Of the four NEXTEL Cup races Busch has competed in at Talladega (Ala. ) Superspeedway, his career-best start and finish there came last October with a sixth-place qualifying effort and an 11th-place result. Prior to that, his best showing was 32nd.

BUSY MAY: The month of May is a busy one for Busch. In addition to his regular track activities, he will participate in two test sessions at Lowe’s Motor Speedway for both the NEXTEL Cup Series and Busch Series, and will also make a trip to Dover (Del. ) International Speedway to test on May 14 prior to the NEXTEL All-Star Challenge.
