Red Bull Cleared

Stewards had asked Red Bull to demonstrate that the car was safe after Coulthard suffered his second major suspension failure in two weekends and crashed heavily in Friday’s opening practice.
Coulthard then got back behind the wheel and qualified 12th for Sunday’s race at Sepang, with Australian team mate Mark Webber in eighth place.
“What happened this weekend doesn’t concern me,” said Coulthard.
“As a racing driver you never think you’re going to have a car failure, so you don’t think about it. And I have complete faith in the team too.”
Team boss Christian Horner said he had been happy to comply with the stewards.
“The FIA takes safety extremely seriously and wanted to understand how the failure had happened. We’ve demonstrated our diligence in making sure the car is safe, they understand that and are happy with the explanation.”
