Mar 09, 2007

Super 8 Motels today announced that it has signed an agreement with Petty Enterprises to become the official lodging partner and associate sponsor of the Number 43 Cheerios/Betty Crocker Dodge driven by Bobby Labonte, a past NASCAR Nextel Cup Series(TM) champion.

Beginning with the 2007 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series season, the Super 8(R) logo will be displayed on Labonte’s car and uniform, crew team’s uniforms, team trailers, pit boxes and transporters including merchandise haulers.

With this agreement, the Super 8 economy hotel chain will enter its 11th year as a NASCAR(R) racing sponsor, according to Rosanne Zusman, Super 8 vice president of marketing.

“Research has shown that nearly 40 percent of our guests are interested in NASCAR, and our continued association with racing has created a definite preference for the Super 8 brand, “ she said “Our relationship with NASCAR and Petty Enterprises promises to provide significant exposure for the Super 8 brand among a diverse audience. “

Labonte said his team stays in Super 8 motels when traveling between races. “Travel is a huge part of racing, and Super 8 motels are always a nice and clean place to stay, “ he said. “That’s important. It helps us get our job done when we are away from home. We are thankful for their support. “

With more than 2,000 Super 8 Motel locations worldwide, the Petty team, Labonte and racing fans can find clean, comfortable accommodations wherever their travels take them.

Richard Petty, a seven-time Nextel Cup champion and owner of the #43 Cheerios/Betty Crocker Dodge, called Super 8 Motels a “great partner for our team. “

“I’ve been all across the country racing over the years, and you can always count on Super 8 motels being there along the way, “ he said. “Super 8 motels help our team and all the fans get a good night’s rest before each day at the track. We look forward to working with them throughout the season. “
