Brazilians Bruno Junqueira, Mario Moraes and former Formula One racer Enrique Bernoldi all signed deals to drive for Indy-car teams in the upcoming season.
Moraes, 19, was second in the South American Formula 3 standings last year. “I’ve never been on an oval, so that will be an experience,” Moraes said. “With Bruno, he’s going to help us develop a lot. Everybody is going to help.”
Bernoldi, 29, signed with Conquest Racing and will join Frenchman Franck Perera on another former Champ-car squad.
“We have an interesting season ahead of us,” he said. “At the beginning, we will have to learn a lot because it is a new car for the team and for me and especially to race on ovals, which I never did. But it will be interesting.”
