Cup entry list shows 49 drivers at NHIS

Forty-nine drivers are on the preliminary entry list for Sunday’s NASCAR Nextel Cup Series race at New Hampshire International Speedway.
Chad Chaffin is driving the No. 49 BAM Racing Dodge in place of Mike Bliss. The only other driver change for the weekend is the previously announced plan to put John Andretti in the Petty Enterprises No. 45 Dodge. Regan Smith is making his scheduled appearance in the No. 01 Ginn Racing Chevrolet he shares with Mark Martin.
A total of 14 teams must qualify based on speed, though Bill Elliott in the No. 21 Wood Brothers/JTG Racing is eligible for the past champions provisional and is guaranteed a starting spot.
