‘Gas saving tour’ Lakeville, WCS host big weekend for dirt-track fans

With inclement weather canceling the first two nights, a sunny forecast for Friday and Saturday shuld provide perfect conditions for the inaugural Ohio Super Late Model Speedweek Firecracker 4 presented by Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic.
It will run on Friday night at Lakeville Speedway and Saturday at Federated Auto Parts Wayne County Speedway in Orrville—for a “gas saving tour” that has dirt Late Model racers and fans locally and regionally taking a good hard look at the relative low-mileage four-night stand.
“The biggest thing that I am pumped up about is that Speedweek deal is really a ‘gas saving tour’,” commented George “The General” Lee, driver of the Maibach Ford No. 21 Rocket Chassis. “I went to Tyler County (Speedway) two weeks ago and that’s 3 1/2 hours. Look where went this past weekend to race, in Canada and that’s 12 hours. So if you look at it, there’s a chunk of change up for grabs that week and the tracks are only, what, 27 miles apart.”
