Martin is 11th in points halfway to Chase cutoff

When he opened the season with a second-place finish at Daytona and finished in the top 10 in his first four races with Ginn Racing, Martin was first in the Nextel Cup standings.
Then, he did what he promised, skipping Bristol (Tenn.) and Martinsville (Va.). He bypassed Talladega (Ala.), too.
