In the early afternoon the A1 Team Netherlands mechanics started on working on the seat in the A1GP Technical Centre, where the teams work on their cars in preparation for the forthcoming season.
Almost straight away Doornbos got a fairly decent seating position in the quite tight fit car. “It felt good, although we have to wait for the other seats, designed for taller drivers, to get a better position in the car.”, said Robert in a first reaction.
Jeroen Bleekemolen, who will defend the Dutch honors in the World Cup of Motorsport together with Doornbos was also present at Silverstone to witness the latest developments.
Next Tuesday Doornbos will make his debut in the 600 bhp A1GP car, during the A1GP test at Snetterton. Bleekemolen will then also go out on track. This is also the final testing opportunity for the teams to try their new cars before the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport kicks off at Circuit Park Zandvoort on October 5.
