Apr 07, 2007

The 2007 WPS Bathurst International Motor Festival moves into overdrive tomorrow as 90 drivers contest eight classes to wrap up a big Easter weekend of motor racing.

Today s qualifying for the WPS 12-Hour Enduro saw a fired up Paul Morris pilot his team s BMW 335i to pole position, claiming a quickest time of 2:32.1348 around Bathurst s 6.21 kilometre Mt Panorama circuit.

That effort allows the Morris/Craig Baird and Garry Holt trio to take confidence into the race for overall honours and also in their respective Penrite Rear Wheel Drive Class.

The front row of the start grid will be shared with the leading Sonax All Wheel Drive team of Rick Bates, Bob Hughes and Peter Gazzard, after Bates managed to fire off an impressive 2:32.3169 lap in his Mitsubishi Evo.
