Raybestos Rookie of the Year contender, Brad Keselowski, will attempt to qualify the Oklahoma Centennial Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS #23 this Saturday, March 10, in the NASCAR Busch Series Sam’s Town 300 at the newly banked Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Keselowski has competed on the 1.5 mile oval in the past in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series; however, this will be his first attempt there in the NASCAR Busch Series. “We tested here in January and I really like the steeper banking they’ve put in place. It should make for better racing, †stated Keselowski.
The racetrack, which held its inaugural NASCAR Busch Series event back in 1997, has increased the banking in the turns from 12° to 20°. Crew chief, Ronnie Griffin, stated, “We’re unable to use our past notes because of the change they made to the racetrack. We gathered some valuable information during our test there in January and we’ve made the necessary adjustments for Brad.
