The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will conclude six straight weeks of racing this Saturday at the Memphis Motorsports Park. Tim Sauter and the Lester Buildings sponsored Green Light Racing team have shown a vast improvement over that stretch with only one finish outside the top-twenty. Memphis is one of Tim’s favorite tracks that the series will visit all year and expectations among the team are high for another strong run for the Lester Buildings Chevy.

Sauter has moved from 26th to 18th in drivers points over the last five weeks and hopes another good showing this weekend at Memphis will vault him towards the top-fifteen. “We’ve been getting better and better as a team. I’m starting to understand how differently the truck drives than the Busch car and we’re figuring out what we need to do to keep improving the handling of our racetruck,” Sauter said. “We’ve made progress but we can’t be satisfied. We have to keep working hard to improve.”

The Green Light Racing team is bringing the same racetruck that ran near the top-ten most of the race at Milwaukee last Friday night. “It’s probably the best piece we have right now,” Sauter explained. “Doug and the guys are going to make some subtle changes to help us with forward bite, but the set-up is really similar to how we ran at The Mile. I’m real excited to get to Memphis, our motor was real strong last week and Carl Wegner has another good one for us this weekend. I’m expecting to run in the top-15, but our sights are set on giving Lester Buildings that first top-ten.”

Race fans are encouraged to enter the Lester Buildings “Race Fan Building Sweepstakes” for a chance to win a Lester “Town & Country” building with an MSRP of approximately $30,000 by mailing the coupon from Tim’s autograph card or by completing an online form found at JAYSKI.com, including the site’s expanded Craftsman Truck news pages.

• The O’Reilly 200 will be Tim’s 15th start in the NCTS and 125th career NASCAR start.

• This will be the seventh time Tim has competed at Memphis Motorsports Park in a NASCAR event.

• Tim’s best finish at the Memphis Motorsports Park was 6th on October 20, 2002 in the NBS.

• Tim is currently 18th in NCTS driver points.

• This will be the seventh season Green Light Racing has competed at Memphis Motorsports Park in the NCTS. Best finish; 13th on June 21st, 2003 with Jody Lavender driving the #07.

• Both of Green Light Racing’s owners; Bobby Dotter and Gene Christensen have competed at Memphis Motorsports Park in the NCTS.

Tim’s thoughts on the Memphis Motorsports Park: “Memphis is a unique little track. One and Two are pretty fast, sweeping corners, you can really roll through them but three and four are very tight. We’ll need a lot of brakes to get the truck slowed-up to get through that end of the track. Memphis can really eat up tires, especially if your not handling well. I’ve had a couple of good runs there in the past, but they have all been in daytime races. This will be the first time I have run there at night, we’re planning for the track to be a little tighter under the lights.”

There are 36 pre-entries for the O’Reilly 200 will be televised live on SPEED TV at 8:30 eastern on June 22nd and also broadcast on MRN radio. Jack Sprague is the defending race winner.
