NASCAR driver Jon Wood is already having the toughest year of his career.
Tuesday morning it got a little tougher.Wood, the son of Wood Brothers co-owner Eddie Wood, sustained a cut on his head and bruising on his arm in a single-car accident Tuesday morning on his way to work. The 25-year-old third generation racer was treated and released at a local hospital.Wood Brothers/JTG Racing said eyewitnesses reported shortly after 8 a.m. they witnessed a failure of his right front air bag, causing his pickup truck to veer off the roadway into the woods. Wood’s truck has a modified suspension system with pneumatic air bags on the chassis, which apparently caused the accident.
