Roush Fenway Racing announced today that The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company’s Ortho brand will sponsor the No. 50 Ford F-150 driven by Carl Edwards in the 2007 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season opening race at Daytona International Speedway this Friday night.

“I think it’s great that Scotts is sponsoring the No. 50 at Daytona,” said Edwards.  “We’ll be representing the Ortho brand this weekend, and I’m so pumped.  I think we’ve got a great shot to wind up in victory lane.”

The No. 50 truck was among the fastest in preseason testing in Daytona last month.  “We’ve got a great truck,” said crew chief Matt Puccia.  “This is the same chassis that we used to qualify second and finish sixth at Talladega last fall.  I’ve known Carl for a long time, and I can’t remember ever seeing him this excited for a particular race.  We’re all looking forward to Friday night, and we’re happy that Ortho has come on board with us again.”

“It’s symbolic to partner with Carl Edwards in the No. 50 Ortho truck at Daytona, since the beginning of the lawn care and NASCAR season start at the same time,” said Rich Foster, Vice President for Ortho Marketing.

Edwards drove the No. 50 Ortho F-150 last season at Dover, where he finished second.  Edwards has six wins in 58 Craftsman Truck Series starts, including a win at Daytona in 2004.
