Lester Buildings and Green Light Racing is pleased to announce an alliance with SS Racing for seven races in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. The first race in the partnership will be March 16th at the American Commercial Lines 200 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Veteran driver Tim Sauter will pilot the #07 Lester Buildings Silverado along with various sponsors all interconnected through the building construction industry. “This venture certainly triggers the potential for exciting, mutually-beneficial business relationships between Lester Buildings, our independent dealer-contractors and ASI LIMITED, ” said Tom Borgman, Lester Buildings Marketing Director. “Further, it’s an important step in growing and activating our motorsports program beyond our consumer appeal and into the business-to-business realm. “
Ken Smith, President of SS Racing and ASI LIMITED agreed with Borgman and has developed his racing program to a business-to-business marketing model with ASI LIMITED, his core company, and associated companies. “It’s an exciting platform for quantifying sales growth, †said Smith. “Branding on the track is merely a benefit of the program, not the basis. Quantifying sales growth is the key for all of us. â€
Larry Lembrich, Senior VP of Sales for Lester Building Systems expressed his enthusiasm with SS Racing and the overall marketing additions to the #07 team. “We’re extremely excited to welcome SS Racing on board as our partner in the Craftsman Truck Series, †stated Lembrich. “Along with a rich tradition and involvement in racing, their business relationships are a bonus to Lester Buildings. â€
But for driver Tim Sauter, it will be all about racing. No stranger to success on the race track, Sauter has been past champion of the American Speed Association (ASA) and for the past six years, has competed in the principal NASCAR series – Craftsman Truck, Busch and Winston Cup. Tim is the son of Jim Sauter and the brother of NASCAR drivers Jay and Johnny Sauter. Current SS Racing team leader and Crew Chief, Deon Deneau, served as Tim’s car chief on that ASA National Championship team.
Atlanta will be the first of seven NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races for the new partnership with SS Racing. The current schedule has the alliance continuing at the following CTS venues: Lowes Motor Speedway, Kentucky Speedway, O’Reilly Raceway Park, Talladega and Texas Speedway.
