San Antonio’s Joe Aramendia – who’s raced in many series, including the NASCAR Busch and Craftsman Truck series – reported today he’s doing ‘just fine’ after an incident that put a knot in his left leg and his head last Saturday night at Thunder Hill Raceway.
“The swelling on my head is down to almost nothing, ” said Aramendia, one of San Antonio’s most popular all-time drivers. “My right eye is still a little tender. My left leg is getting better every day; that hurts the most. The leg still has a big knot on it although I can walk with just a slight limp. But that’s just because the leg is still very tender – still, compared to Saturday, it’s 50 percent better. ”
Aramendia was standing by the fence watching Saturday’s Super Stock feature race prior to the start of his TSRS Late Models feature race (the Insty Prints 75). He said he was rooting for fellow San Antonio driver Keith Garrett, who was competing in the 40-lap event, when an accident occurred in between the first and second turns.
