Tim Sauter Looks To Atlanta

The start of his 2007 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series campaign has started a little tougher than Tim Sauter had imagined, with mechanical problem at Daytona and an ill-handling race truck at California. As a result the #07 Lester Buildings team finds itself a disappointing 26th in series points.

The Green Light team has used the two weeks off since California preparing a different Silverado to bring to the Atlanta race. Sauter is pleased with the effort of the team and the progress they have made in the shop, “We got a very late start preparing for the season, it’s been a lot of work updating the sheet metal on these Chevy’s to the new 2007 body style. We learned a few things at California and I believe we have a better idea what this new body package needs to handle better. We’ll know what we’ve got in the first few laps of practice. ”

Team Co-owner Bobby Dotter is ready to get back to Atlanta where Sauter’s teammate Chad McCumbee had a top-ten finish in the #08 last fall, “Chad had a strong run in the fall race so it would make sense to use that set-up but the new nose has added down force so we know the set-up will need to change to balance the truck. Both Green Light teams have been working hard these last couple weeks so we’re excited to get to Atlanta. ”

The #07 will have a slightly different look this weekend at Atlanta for the American Commercial Lines 200. The first race in a seven race partnership with SS Racing and Green Light Racing; Lester Buildings will be joined this week by TSG Industries, ASI LIMITED, Spectrum Metal Finishing, Akzo Nobel and Aluminum Shapes. Sauter is excited about the new partnership, “I’ve always respected what Ken Smith has done with their development program. I’m proud to represent SS Racing and it’s partner companies and we’re going to do our best to give them a strong finish. ”

Larry Lembrich, Vice President of Sales for Lester Buildings welcomes the new partners, “We’re extremely excited to welcome SS Racing on board as our partner in the Craftsman Truck Series, ” stated Lembrich. “Along with a rich tradition and involvement in racing, their business relationships are a bonus to Lester Buildings. ”
