Tim Sauter will make his third career start at the Kansas Speedway when the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series heads to the one and a half mike speedway in the nation’s heartland. Sauter’s two previous starts at Kansas were in the NASCAR Busch Series where he has averaged an 18th place finish.
It has been four weeks since the NCTS has competed and the Green Light Racing team is ready to get back to the racetrack. The team has kept busy preparing their Chevy Silverado’s for a demanding May and June that includes eight races in a ten-week stretch. They also tested at a local short-track to continue to improve the handling of their trucks. Doug Howe has joined the team and will be on the pit box this weekend.
The Wisconsin native is ready to shake off a tough start to the 2007 season and the best way to do that is to get a good finish for sponsor Lester Buildings. “I expected that we would struggle at the start of the year, trying to get used to things in the truck series. ” Sauter said. “The guys have been working hard and the attitude in the shop is good. We just need to carry that onto the racetrack and turn our hard luck around. ”
With the Kansas Speedway in the middle of one of Lester Buildings’ core market areas, Tim is looking forward to representing his long-time sponsor in front of a large fan-customer base. “I want to give all those owners and potential owners of a Lester Building a good run this weekend and prove to everyone that we can get the job done in the NCTS! ”
