Friday evening the Texas Motor Speedway will host the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for the second time this year. For Green Light Racing driver Tim Sauter, the return could be what the team needs as it works its way to the end of the 2007 season. Sauter was competitive in the June race finishing 14th, the team’s highest finish on a mile and a half speedway this season.

ASILimited and it’s partners; Aluminum Shapes, Spectrum Metal Finishing and Akzo Nobel will join Lester Buildings for the seventh and final time this season. “Our 2007 racing partnership with Lester Buildings has benefited all facets of our growing business, ” said Ken Smith, President of ASILIMITED. “It allows us to market and entertain our national customers in specific geographic areas through strategic race venues. These events, along with our quality products and customer service, continue to grow sales beyond expectations. ” Sauter appreciates the additional support. “We had a couple of really good runs with ASILimited on our #07. ORP was a lot of fun and we showed how good this team can run. I’d like to thank them for joining us this year. ”

Texas is home to Green Light Racing co-owner Gene Christensen, who announced his candidacy for Congress at the speedway in June. “I’d like to get a top-10 finish for Gene this weekend, ” Sauter said. “For him this is kind of like us racing back home in Milwaukee. You always want to do good in front of your friends and family. ”

The Green Light team is returning with the same Chevy Silverado that finished 21st at Atlanta last weekend. The team learned a few things about the set-up and Sauter is hopeful that it will translate into a better run at Texas. “We really were not very good last week but the guys kept working at it, ” explained Sauter. “We had our best speedway finish of the year earlier at Texas so we’ll use those notes along with what we learned at Atlanta. I think we’ll have a better run this week. ”

• The Chevy Silverado 350k will be Tim’s 26th NCTS start and 139th career NASCAR start.

• Tim is currently 16th in NCTS driver points.

• Tim is second in the Raybestos Rookie of the Year standings behind Willie Allen.

• This will be Tim’s fifth NASCAR start at Texas, once in the NCTS and three in the Busch Series.

• Tim’s best finish at Texas was 14th earlier this year from the 29th starting position.

• Green Light Racing’s best finish at Atlanta is 9th, June 9, 2006 with Chad McCumbee at the wheel of the #08.

Tim Sauter’s thoughts on the Texas Motor Speedway: “We were decent here in June, we had a shock go bad in practice and that got us off track for a while. Once we figured that out Doug and the guys got the truck pretty good. ”
