Todd Bodine captured the pole for Saturday afternoon’s Mountain Dew 250 Craftsman Truck Series race at the Talladega Superspeedway. The No.30 Germain Toyota circled the giant 2.66-mile track in 52.670 seconds (181.811 m.p.h.) to lead a Toyota sweep of the front row and nine of the top-12 starting spots.
Starting with Bodine on the front row will be three-time series champion Jack Sprague, who posted a time of 52.720 seconds. Erik Darnell (52.766) and Mike Wallace (52.980) will make up row two. Travis Kvapil was fifth quickest.
Try as he may, Kvapil can’t quite make the Craftsman Truck Series championship a three-horse race. Sports Network
Reigning series champion Todd Bodine took the pole position for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck race at Talladega Superspeedway, beating out three-time champion Jack Sprague in Friday’s qualifying.
Bodine turned a fast lap of 181.811 m. p.h., while Sprague was close behind at 181.639. It is Bodine’s second pole of the season but only the third of his 85-race truck career. Canadian Press
