Graham Rahal, son of US motorsport legend and former Jaguar team principal Bobby, will get his first taste of Formula 1 power when he participates in BMW Motorsport’s successful Pitlane Park tour of Las Vegas in January.
The 18-year-old, who raced for the all-conquering Newman/Haas/Lanigan team in the Champ Car World Series this season and is so doing becoming the youngest man to score a podium in the category, will demonstrate the F1.07 car as part of sponsor Intel’s promotional programme at the Consumer Electronics Show on January 7-10. Rahal, whose father twice drove for the Wolf team in 1978, is currently a driver in the Champ Car World Series and is delighted to be getting behind the wheel of the car that will be driven by Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica again next season.
Rahal, the youngest ever driver to grab a podium position in Champ Car, will run the car along a specially-prepared 90-metre straight at Pit Lane Park, an attraction designed to deliver the F1 experience to the public.Setanta Sports.com

“It’s a great thrill for me to be driving a Formula One car even though it’s not on a proper racing circuit,” said the 18-year-old American, who will get to blast along a specially-prepared 90-metre straight. “It has been a dream of mine to drive an F1 car and I can’t thank BMW enough for giving me this opportunity.”
