Formula 1’s resident record-breaker Lewis Hamilton narrowly failed to lower yet another benchmark last week when he made a first appearance on the hugely popular motoring programme Top Gear.
The McLaren ace took part in the BBC show’s regular ‘Star in a Reasonably Priced Car’ feature in which celebrities set a time around the programme’s race track in a Suzuki Liana saloon car. ITV.com
Ice-cool Lewis Hamilton was close to tears after receiving a moving tribute from the sister of his late racing hero Ayrton Senna.
Hamilton received a hat-trick of honours at the Autosport Awards in London last night and the organisers of the event flew in Vivian Senna especially for the occasion.
Senna was Hamilton’s racing idol as a schoolboy and he still rates the Brazilian as the greatest of all time - better even than Michael Schumacher. Alex Lowe, SportingLife.com
