Force India co-owner Vijay Mallya says he will decide on the team’s 2008 driver line-up before Christmas and that the selection will “balance talent with experience”.
The newly renamed team tried out a host of drivers for a seat at the team last week at Jerez, with Giancarlo Fisichella, Ralf Schumacher, Christian Klien and Tonio Liuzzi all auditioning for a drive. ITV F1.com
“Vijay Mallya is hugely successful - he has an airline and brands ranging from whiskeys to the Kingfisher beer brand and he’s a massive politician in his own right in India,” Jordan told the programme.
“What inspires me to think that it will work is that he cannot afford to fail or afford to let it be like it is at the moment. There are real funds and sponsorships required now for running in Formula 1 and he’s got that.” Niamh O’Mahony, SetantaSports.com
