The Etihad Aldar Spyker Formula One Team is pleased to confirm that Markus Winkelhock, the team’s reserve driver, will partner Adrian Sutil at this weekend’s European Grand Prix at the Nürbürgring.

Markus, son of the late F1 and sports car driver Manfred Winkelhock, is thrilled to be making his Formula One debut in the Spyker-Ferrari F8-VII at his home race in Germany. ‘Obviously it’s a dream come true’ said the 27-year-old from Stuttgart.
It will be a slightly revised Etihad Aldar Spyker Formula One Team that takes to the track for the European Grand Prix, the tenth event of the year, this week. Adrian Sutil and Markus Winkelhock will complete driving duties for the team this weekend, making Spyker the only team in the paddock to run an all-German line-up.

Winkelhock said he was thrilled to have the opportunity to make his Formula 1 debut on home ground.
“Obviously it’s a dream come true, ” he said.
“I haven’t had much time in the car this year but I’m physically and mentally prepared.
