Formula One: No 2009 Entry For Prodrive F1 Team McLaren

Prodrive have no guaranteed place in Formula One in 2009 after deciding against entering as the 12th team next season, according to International Automobile Federation (FIA) president Max Mosley. Reuters.com

The interesting point is that the FIA has already issued a 2008 entry list back on April 28 2006. This must have some legal status and thus one must ask whether there will be any penalty for Prodrive failing to make the championship. At the time the FIA noted that race numbers will be determined and published as per the final order of the 2007 FIA Formula 1 World Championship, which is fair enough. Grand Prix.com
