The Monte Carlo round of the world series by Renault was encouraging for the Prema power team. Both drivers brought their cars to the finish, with the English driver crossing the finishing line in 6th place despite trying in vein to pass Giedo Van der Garde for 5th. Maassen finished the race in 17th without making any mistakes.
Hanley took valuable points for the championship fight, which now sees him in 6th place overall. Now the World Series Renault can enjoy a long break due to the cancellation of the race in Istanbul, which was scheduled for the 24th of June. The next race is in mid-July on the Hungarian circuit of Budapest.
Angelo Rosin - Team Principal:
“It’s not unknown that at Monte-carlo it’s practically impossible to overtake. The real race takes place in the qualifying and unfortunately Ben Hanley was very unlucky. However, he drove very well during the race to keep his po sition and to put pressure on Van der Garde, trying to force an error. Maassen gained further experience, coming away from a street circuit as difficult as Monaco. ”
