Ralf Schumacher, the 31-year-old younger brother of retired seven-times Formula One drivers’ champion Michael Schumacher, has been warned to improve or lose his racing seat with the Toyota team.
Schumacher, who is currently involved in talks about his future with the team, could be replaced by a younger driver, according to reports.
Toyota vice chairman Tadashi Yamashina told the autosport.com website that he had made it clear they expect more from Schumacher, who scored a point in Canada last weekend.
Yamashina said: “We communicate very well and I do push him. But I hope he will show better performance soon.”
German Adrian Sutil and Japanese Takuma Sato have both been linked with Toyota for next year.
