F1: Strong Reliability Record Makes ING Renault F1 Team Look Forward To Spa With Confidence ING Renault

Two more points…

ING Renault F1 Team left Monza two points richer after a relatively incident-free Italian Grand Prix. The unusual circuit layout didn’t show the R27 at its best, and on a circuit where overtaking is nearly impossible, the cars lacked the performance required for a strong team showing. The general feeling was one of disappointment on Monday morning, but as always, the focus was on the positives: a strong reliability record, with two more finishes and a fifth consecutive points-scoring finish for Heikki after an aggressive race. Giancarlo finished far from the points after having his qualifying session ruined - but was able to save his engine for this week’s severe test at Spa-Francorchamps.

Spa returns!

The run-in to the 2007 season is putting the logistics teams to the test, just four days after the race ended in Monza, and the paddock is already full and buzzing in Belgium! The legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit is back on the calendar, and will host the final European round of the championship on Sunday. After a strong test in July, the ING Renault F1 Team will be looking for a stronger performance than in Italy, and fr further points to consolidate its fourth position in the constructors’ championship.

Spa always makes the drivers go weak at the knees, when you mention corners like Eau Rouge or Pouhon. This will be one of the most spectacular races of the year, and that’s before the ever-unpredictable weather intervenes. The lights will go out at 13:00 on Sunday - make sure you’re in front of your TV to see it!
