While most teams fielded test drivers, along with Rubens Barrichello, Tonio Liuzzi was the only “real” racer in action at Jerez for the first day of what is the final test session ofthe season.
The day went well, with plenty of work completed, even though conditions were windy inthe afternoon. Main item on the agenda was investigating new set-up methods, mainlyof a mechanical nature. In addition, the team evaluated braking material, with promising results, so that it might be used in the Chinese Grand Prix. All the work was carried outon medium compound Bridgestone Potenza tyre.
Tonio continues in the cockpit tomorrow morning and after lunch, Sebastian Vettel takesover for the remaining day and a half.
