British driver Adam Carroll walked away from a massive crash in the opening round of DTM at Hockenheim, which saw two drivers taken to hospital and four cars very badly damaged.
The accident happened on the first lap of the race in which Adam was making his DTM debut for Team Futurecom-TME in the 2005 Audi A4. Fellow Audi drivers Tom Kristensen and Alex Premat were both taken to hospital for further checks after being hit heavily. Mercedes driver Susie Stoddart and Adam both walked away from the crash.
Adam said, “I could see something had happened in front of me and all of a sudden I was in a cloud of smoke and everything was black. I tried to move away from the smoke and get some vision and then I hit someone hard. I don’t know who.
