“The way we had been running all weekend, I was really hoping for a top ten so I am disappointed to be on the 7th row of the grid. There was a lot of traffic when I first went out and I had to back off a bit. After that I really struggled to get the temperature back in my tyres, ” said Adam.
“Hopefully we can still have a good race tomorrow and I am aiming to get in the points. “
After eight cars battled it out in the final round of qualifying, pole position went to former F1 World Champion Mika Hakkinen, with Audi’s Mike Rockenfeller alongside him on the front row of the grid.
Tomorrow’s race begins at 2pm across Europe (1pm in the UK).
