This weekend sees the third round of the 2007 FIA GT Championship take place on the new street circuit in Bucharest.

The F430 GT cars entered by the AF Corse Motorola team tackle the event on this new and twisty Rumanian track, having scored two wins in the GT2 class from the two races held so far, in China and England.

Back to partner Gianmaria Bruni in car number 51 is Stephane Ortelli, who gave up his seat to temporary stand-in Jaime Melo at Silverstone, because of a clash with another race commitment, while number 50 is as always in the hands of Muller/Vilander who have two wins to their name.

“The race is a step into the unknown in every sense, ” commented AF Corse Motorola team owner Amato Ferrari. “The track is new to everyone and whoever does the best job of getting to grips with its character will make the difference. I am definitely confident because our Ferrari F430 GTs, developed by the Maranello Corse Clienti department and Michelin shod, showed they were very quick and reliable in the first two rounds of the championship. ”

In Bucharest, Dirk Muller and Toni Vilander will carry an additional 40 Kg of ballast in their car as demanded by the rules after taking two wins, on top of the usual 28 Kg imposed as standard by the FIA. The other AF Corse Motorola car will be carrying 15 Kg on top of the 28 Kg required by the Federation.

The race starts on Sunday 20 May, at 14.15 local time, with recorded action on TV on Sky Sport 2 in Italy from 15.15.
