After a thrilling start in Zhuhai, China, the FIA GT Championship will return to Europe, with the second round taking place at Silverstone, Great Britain, on May 5th – 6th. For the third time, the overall winner will be awarded the historic Royal Automobile Club Tourist Trophy, which celebrated its centenary two years ago. Who will succeed the Aston Martin Racing DBR9 of Kox/ Lamy, and Bertolini/Bartels with the Vitaphone Racing Maserati MC12 in 2006, and have their names inscribed on the base, joining many illustrious drivers of the past ?
An exciting grid of up to thirty cars should line up for Sunday’s two-hour race – which will feature a very special guest – 1992 Formula One World Champion Nigel Mansell, who will be driving for Scuderia Ecosse in the nr 63 Ferrari 430 GT2 car. This round will also include the first round of the Citation Cup for non-professional drivers; a grid of six cars will be present for this race-within-a-race.
