This year is set to be an incredible season for Brands Hatch and the circuit has just confirmed that yet another World Championship - FIM World Sidecars - will race at the Kent venue in 2007. The event will take place on the weekend as the DTM - the world’s fastest touring car series - on 10/11 June.

The move means that fans will get to enjoy a weekend of spectacular action with V8-engined flame-spitting DTM machines competing on the same bill as two-man sidecar teams, where the passenger constantly moves their weight around the bike to maintain the optimum speed as the driver guides the machine through the corners.

What’s more is that the latest confirmation means that all of Britain’s current motorsport World Champions will defend their titles at the circuit in 2007.

For sidecars, that means local aces Tim and Tristan Reeves (from Tenterden, Kent), who have won the World Sidecar title for the last two years. They’ll return to a track that driver, Tim, describes as one of his favourites:

“It’s absolutely fantastic, ” the World Champion commented. “Seeing as we’re local it means a lot to us to be there, and to be racing with the DTM is brilliant - it’s a great opportunity to race in front of a big crowd.

“The Indy circuit is one of my favourite tracks. It’s great because with the natural amphitheatre everyone can see everything, they don’t miss out on any of the action. With so many people watching, it’s going to be a fantastic atmosphere! “

Sidecars join a Brands Hatch calendar that also includes the World Superbike Championship, World Touring Car Championship and A1GP World Cup of Motorsport, giving Brands Hatch a grand array of international racing. As well as the Reeves brothers Britain’s other reigning World Champion, Andy Priaulx, will defend his title at Brands Hatch in the World Touring Car Championship on 23 September.
