Defending race winner Lou Gigliotti, of Dallas, Texas, turned a lap quicker than his pole-winning time last year to top practice at Miller Motorsports for Round Three of the SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge GT Championship, part of the Larry H. Miller Dealerships Utah Grand Prix. Tommy Archer, of Duluth, Minn., and Eric Curran, of East Hampton, Mass., were second and third quick respectively.
Putting on a fresh set of tires and laying all his cards on the table, Gigliotti set a time of 2:55.968 (91.775 mph) around the 24-turn, 4.486-mile track in his No. 28 LG Pro Long Tube Headers Chevrolet Corvette. The time is 0.264-second faster than his pole-winning time here last year and according to Gigliotti, is fastest he expects to be all weekend.
