Team VIP Petfoods resident defending champions - Carrera Cup s Craig Baird and Aussie Racing Car s Paul Kemal – enjoyed a strong first day of on-track Mount Panorama action at the WPS Bathurst International Motor Festival.
The Easter weekend event is the venue for round three of the Aussie Racing Car series, which today saw series leader Kemal make significant progress to defending his championship lead.
An entertaining first race saw Kemal start on the front row following a blazing qualifying round, lining up alongside pole-sitter and regular V8 Supercar driver Paul Morris.
The action-packed seven lap feature had Kemal, Morris, along with the Ward brothers James and Brad, battling it out for position during the early exchanges.
