Quotes:
Matt Neal: “It’s been a really positive weekend for Team Halfords. Flash and I have had a podium each, I’ve had two fifth places and we have made massive steps forward again. We know where we need to focus and have pinpointed some key areas where we need to work. Now we have a month to work on those areas before Croft.
“This weekend was a journey into the unknown but Team Halfords are good at making cars that can manage their tyres, so while we didn’t have the ultimate qualifying pace, we could turn the heat up in the race and get involved in the fight. We knew this weekend was going to be a tough one, so to come away with the results we’ve got is brilliant. “
Gordon Shedden: “It feels like a long time since I was on the podium! I’ve had no luck this season after contact at Brands Hatch and at Rockingham ruined my weekend. I thought it had happened here again after the incident with Mat Jackson in race one but it was great to come through for a podium in race three and a boost for the whole team.
“The start of that race was manic and we were four abreast with me on the outside at Goodwood. I knew if I lifted that I would have lost about ten places, so I kept my foot down, the car held on, no-one hit me and I was set up for the rest of the race. I’ve had a difficult start to the season and hopefully it’s onwards and upwards from here. “
Steve Neal - team principal: “There has been a big improvement again with the cars. We did a lot of work after Rockingham and are really pleased with what we achieved this weekend.
“One win and a few podiums; we’ve done ok so far with the Honda Civic and now we have a four week gap to the next round and some serious testing to do. It’s been good to date and it’s only going to get better. I think the others will soon need to start watching us through their windscreens rather than looking at us in their mirrors. ”
