Melvin Choo will compete in the Thunder Asia BMW 320si, becoming the first Singaporean to race in the WTCC.
“Having the chance to take part in the WTCC and at the same time create history by being the first Singaporean to join the event is indeed a privilege.
“I will put my foot to the pedal and aim to fly the Singapore flag high at the competition.
“I hope my participation in the WTCC will open doors for other emerging racing talents from Singapore to become known in the world motorsport arena.”
Choo finished second in Asian Touring Car Series Division 2 in 2008 and currently leads the B class in the Porsche Carrera Cup in Asia, while he lies third in the Aston Martin Asia Cup.
