A BIGGER entry list with extra contenders representing Subaru, Ford, Mitsubishi, Lotus and Holden is set to crank up the competition when the Australian Performance Car Championship heads to Victoria’s Winton Motor Raceway this month for the first time in three seasons.
At least seven different makes of showroom-based performance sedans and coupes will contest three races during the V8 Supercar Championship event on 18-20 May.
Queensland-based Wilson Brothers Racing will debut in the championship with the first of two Subaru Impreza STi sedans it plans to run this season, while Sydney stalwart Bob Pearson’s Pro-Duct Motorsport will start his Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8 as a series regular.
Both teams have moved across to the Australian Performance Car Championship after contesting the recent Bathurst 12-Hour race.
